The contents depend on the particular configuration. A standard book walter retractor set can contain a frame, retractor blades, clamps, blade holders, supporting parts, as well as other accessories which are compatible.

Yes, individual parts of the Bookwalter retractor are available separately, depending on availability and configuration. If replacing or adding parts to a system, check for compatibility.

Cleaning, inspection, sterilization and storage should be done according to the manufacturer's instructions and the healthcare facility's validated sterile-processing procedures. Attention should be paid to places where joints and clamps are found as well as attachment areas and other difficult-to-clean places.
